Scientists draw detailed pictures ever of Jupiter's Great Red Spot (Figure)

With data obtained over the past 30 years, scientists have recently completed a detailed drawing an unprecedented picture of Jupiter Great Red Spot.

Jupiter's Great Red Spot storm volume equivalent to two Earth observation is beyond the scope of the telescope. This piece of digitally enhanced images using data from the "Voyager 1" detector back to Earth in 1979.

NASA announced in 2010 the infrared image, showing a restless region of Jupiter's Great Red Spot appears. More colors dim area, the temperature lower.

Visible light image shows the site to see Jupiter manic eye area.

In 1977, NASA launched the "Voyager 1" probe, 34 years later, 这颗 probe is moving in the outer solar system moving. In this space, with epic journey early, that is, March 4, 1979, "Voyager 1" Jupiter, with a 36 minutes on the planet to shoot, when 1.85 million km from Jupiter.

"Voyager 1" is the farthest distance flown in the universe of man-made objects, the current distance from Earth has reached 117AU (1AU is the distance between Earth and Sun.) Since the 19th century, the Great Red Spot of Jupiter has aroused great interest astronomers. It is located 22 degrees south of the equator of Jupiter, to the left and backward movement. Over time, the Great Red Spot volume change, 100 years ago to 40,000 km in diameter, is now only about half the time. Although restless, mutation and close contact with other anti-cyclone, the Great Red Spot has maintained remarkable stability of state, that will not disappear in the near future. Takafumi
